Grateful Dead Bundle & Competition Kickoff!
8/17/2021 - Influencing a generation is a feat that doesn’t come easy, and amassing a following that spans multiple generations sets the “greats'' apart from the “goods.” Founded by Jerry Garcia, Bob Weir, Ron “Pigpen” McKernan, Phil Lesh, and Bill Kreutzmann in 1965, the Grateful Dead are known for their diverse musical styles that incorporate various genres from jazz, to country, to bluegrass and even, yes, gospel. The band has entertained millions over the years!
Their legacy not only encompasses, but transcends music. They’ve broken into culture, lifestyle, and beyond as you’ll find it difficult to walk down any American street without seeing a printed t-shirt sporting the iconic “dancing bears” or “DeadHead” iconography. Everyone has heard the Grateful Dead or has at least heard of them, it’s truly amazing!
The Grateful Dead have built a community of loyal listeners and devoted fans, and we see that as a huge triumph as we hold “community” in high esteem at Color Collab. To celebrate the Dead, their accomplishments, and community, we are excited to announce that we have released our Grateful Dead Bundle.
The bundle is a collection of some of their most famed album art and iconography - honoring their years together and observing their legacy as one of the great American rock bands. In this bundle, we’ve selected several fan favorites, including: the Dancing Bears, Deadhead and Good Ol’ Grateful Dead. You can check out the rest of the art below. To top it off, we’ve developed the Grateful Dead Tie-Dye Brush, which gives you the ability to apply a burst of colors in your Collabs to add a bit of that American rock band flair that Deadheads have come to love. We’re excited for you to test it out and eagerly await your feedback.
The Competition
Color Collab is humbled by the opportunity to host such revered art and want to share this with our community. So, between Monday, August 16th and Monday August 30th, we will be hosting the Grateful Dead Inaugural competition. The competition art we chose exemplifies the Grateful Dead and their iconography. Wherever you are, when you see the dancing bears, you think “Grateful Dead,” so we’ve elected to use these incredibly happy busking bears as our competition art. Details are below…
Competition Details:
Begins August 16th at 5PM ET with voting beginning in-app on August 30 at 5 PM ET.
Winners will be notified on September 2nd in the app!
How to enter:
1. Download and open Color Collab by following this link from your mobile device:
2. After the initial load screen (once the competition is live), you'll see a pop-up asking if you'd like to enter the competition. Press "Compete.” If at first you don’t see the competition, close the app and re-open it.
3. If you decide to exit the pop-up, you can still enter by clicking the competition banner under the featured replays on home screen
4. Press "Compete"
