Recent Pricing Error
January 8, 2021 -Nearly one year into development the Color Collab team is feeling the sting of our first hot button issue: pricing.
Still, after a year of working together, we’re learning new things each day. As individuals, we have worked on many specialized aspects of game and app development (Product management, QA, Technical Engineering) but as a collective, we’re all wearing multiple hats and learning new things outside of our respective fields of education & experience. As a result, some things are missed due to lack of experience within other business units.
Color Collab is meant to be enjoyable at all levels. For that reason, we developed the app using the freemium model which, by definition, means that most of the base elements of the app are available to download and play for free while offering the option of paying for additional/upgradable features. As it relates to Color Collab (currently), paid upgrades include additional color palettes, unlocking the color wheel (16 million manually selectable colors), premium art - with more tools, brushes and features planned on the roadmap.
Color Collab Plus is currently (subject to change) available in both Google Play Store and the Apple App Store on a monthly basis for $4.99 and $59.99 for our yearly subscription in the United States.
In full transparency (our goal is to be transparent with our community at all times), to our displeasure, it has been brought to our attention that subscription prices for some users have been incorrectly rendered and in a few cases, billed.
Upon further inspection, we discovered that the exchange rate tables within the Google Play Console had automatically defaulted to vastly increased prices ($224.99 per year). This number is NOT CORRECT and if you have attempted to subscribe or have subscribed and paid this price, please email us at feedback@colorcollab.net so that we can rectify the situation immediately.
We understand that situations like this can leave a salty taste in one’s mouth and, as a collective, we aim to please, entertain, and engage with our community.
Again, we are sorry for the confusion and discontent this has caused our community! So please bear with us as we iron out the kinks and bring you the app that you desire & deserve!
